The Darfur Cinema Center initiated the “Cinema School” project—a comprehensive awareness program targeting high school students in Nyala City. The project featured film screenings and seminars addressing gender and addiction issues.
Implementation took place in secondary schools across South Darfur state in November 2019. Participating schools included Um Al-Mumineen Girls’ Secondary School, Nyala Technical Boys’ School, Nyala Secondary Boys’ School, Nyala New Secondary School, Abdulhameed Dhu Al-Bayt Girls’ Secondary School, Al-Nahda Secondary Girls School.
The project’s scope included:
a. Raising awareness about the dangers of addiction.
b. Combating gender-based violence.
A total of 1,000 students were reached, and the project was conducted in collaboration between the Darfur Cinema Center and the Ministry of Education in South Darfur.
