Sama Foundation For Advocacy & Human Rights

Conclusion of the “Khalas Kafana” Campaign

The activities of the Khalas Kafana “Enough is Enough” campaign concluded this evening in Kampala, the Ugandan capital. The campaign was launched by Sama Foundation for Advocacy and Human Rights with generous support from the Norwegian People’s  Aid. This campaign is one of the most prominent initiatives aiming to provide clear and comprehensive insights to debunk the narratives that underpin the war that broke out on April 15, and to foster community awareness about the role of peaceful discourse in building Sudan’s future.

The closing event of the campaign featured a diverse and rich interactive program. It commenced with a musical concert performed by the artist Waddah, who presented a collection of songs reflecting aspirations for peace and national unity, creating an atmosphere of positivity and engagement among attendees. Following the concert, a symposium titled “War Narratives and the Future of Sudan” was held, featuring prominent speakers, including Dr. Hisham Omar Al-Noor and Mr. Mutwakil Dagash. The symposium deeply explored the impact of war-related narratives on Sudan’s social fabric and their negative effect on national unity, while also presenting future scenarios for Sudan if such narratives persist. The discussion sparked considerable interaction from attendees, who raised many questions and fruitful debates.

The event also included the distribution of the first issue of the “Khalas Kafana” magazine, which is considered a significant achievement of the campaign. The magazine contains a variety of content, including thought-provoking articles, inspiring stories, creative designs, and documentary reports of activities conducted within the campaign framework, such as dialogue forums that brought together community figures and activists, reflecting the campaign’s success in creating meaningful impact.

It is worth noting that the “Khalas Kafana” campaign is part of Sama Foundation’s efforts to enhance community awareness and build a brighter future for the Sudanese people. This activity highlights the institution’s commitment to supporting peaceful dialogue and mitigating the impact of war on the social fabric, striving to achieve sustainable peace and comprehensive development.
