Sama Foundation For Advocacy & Human Rights

Khalas Kafan

KhalasKafan is a campaign launched by Sama Advocacy Foundation. During this campaign, we aim to build a cohesive discourse towards peace, since the outbreak of the war that has been raging in our country from April 15 of the last year has widened the gap between Sudanese people and built thick walls dividing people based on their primary affiliations, such as tribe and region. Many people have paid a heavy price as victims to abuse, torture, and various forms of discrimination and violations leading to catastrophic outcomes.

Through this campaign, we will provide space for diverse opinions from Sudanese activists, and we will listen to different narratives and experiences of many people in their everyday lives during the war, as well as their unique ways of survival, to draw inspiration from ideas and experiences across various regions of Sudan. We will also challenge the narratives used by war advocates and those supporting its continuation.

Ending the war is a collective effort and is not a single topic that we address as an ultimate goal . This war is sustained by various pillars that fuel its continuation, such as divisive and hateful rhetorics. This conflict in our country today comprises different wars, starting from external factors and their various intersections, as well as internal intersections since the early formations of the post-colonial state. It’s true that the road ahead is difficult, but moving forward is the only choice we have.
